KARACHI – Sindh Inspector General (IG) of Police AD Khawaja has directed the police officials to beef up security in all parts of the province following the explosion in an area of Peshawar.
The police spokesman informed that the IG had directed all the deputy inspectors general of police (DIGs) and the senior superintendents of police (SSPs) in Karachi and other parts of the province to ensure foolproof security at all the government and private educational centers, commercial and trade centers, transport hubs and places of worship, among other places.
He underscored the need for expediting the ongoing operation against criminals in the city and further improving the police performance. “We should improve the intelligence gathering and ensure greater coordination with other intelligence agencies,” he observed.
He said that the police patrolling, pickets, snap checking, recce and monitoring in the jurisdiction of the police stations should be enhanced across Sindh. The inspector general of police warned that any negligence in the security would not be tolerated.
