ISLAMABAD: Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said that the wish of Pakistanis for peace should not be taken as a sign of their weakness.
While talking in senate on Tuesday he said that Pakistan had informed of India’s aims in the region to other countries, including those situated in Central Asia. He said that Pakistan wants peace and prosperity in the region and have made innumerable sacrifices in this regards. However, this desire for peace must not be confused with any sort of weakness, he added.
He also said that Pakistan is mindful of its security challenges and not once had those been put on the back burner. He added that Pakistan always wants peaceful foreign relations but if needed then it is well equipped to defend itself as well.
